Disconnect again the terminals when you are done with the present measurements or while you are thinking, analysing or preparing for the next set of measurements. Connect the terminals only when you are making measurements.
SAVINGS TIP: Always leave one terminal of both voltage supplies disconnected until you are ready to make measurements. Using the breadboard, connect the circuit as shown in the next figure. Set Vị to the 1.5V battery module and V2the 3.0V battery module.
Use these actual values and not their nominal values as indicated in their color bands. Measure the three carbon resistors' actual resistance. Set R1 and R3 to 510 ohms, and R2 to 1,000 ohms (or to any value that the instructor may assign to you). While you are waiting for it to finish downloading, you may start with the experiment proper. This will enable your cellphone to function as a symbolic calculator (the next generation calculator to the standard scientific numerical calculators). Make sure to install the Symbolic Math toolbox (also free).
